True or False?
Many myths that need to be debunked. Paying attention to particulars that make the difference!
  • COMBUSTION IS A CHEMICAL REACTION THAT TAKES PLACE IN ALL FIREPLACES
Double combustion is not spontaneous; it only takes place in fireplaces where the hearth has been specifically designed for it. Oxygen must go through a special path for pre-heating it and it must then enter the fireplace at a height that is useful for it to come in contact with the carbon monoxide, resulting from the primary combustion.
  • THE NEEDED AIR MUST BE HEATED BEFORE ENTERING THE HEARTH
In order to have double combustion, oxygen must be brought up to a very high temperature before coming in contact with fumes from the first combustion, otherwise it would not ignite.
  • DOUBLE COMBUSTION HAPPENS BECAUSE FUMES ARE FORCED DOWN
Double combustion is a result of pre-heated oxygen and carbon monoxide coming in contact during their natural course upwards.
  • THE SECOND FLAME MUST BE PERFECTLY VISIBLE
The double combustion system has been designed to always run. If the second flame is not visible through the glass door, it is a sign that the advantages of double combustion are not present (less air pollution, increased thermal yield and fuel savings).
  • THE AIR CAUSING THE DOUBLE COMBUSTION* CAN ENTER FROM ANY PART OF THE HEARTH
Contrary to what one may think, the only purpose for air coming from the door frame is to keep the glass clean, it does not influence the double combustion system in any way. The only air used for double combustion is what enters through the specific opening on the hearth wall.
  • IT IS BETTER FOR HEARTH WALLS TO BE SLANTED
Slant is very important in hearth walls: a slanted wall captures heat better and disperses it in a more uniform way. In order to test this, try positioning a finger close to a lighted match: the more you slant the top of the flame, the more you will feel heat, until you get burnt.
  • THE INSIDE OF THE HEARTH MUST BE SMOOTH
The quantity of heat emitted by a fireplace depends on its capacity to recover heat generated by the flames and then release it back into the room.
  • CHAINS ARE THE BEST SYSTEM FOR LIFTING THE MONOBLOCK DOOR
Iron chains seem silent and light when they are new; however, with time and usage, if they are not frequently oiled, they will start to squeak and moving them will become more difficult, and there is a possibility that they may break. Certified steel cables, used in the Palazzetti hearth doors, do not require maintenance, they are more silent, and they operate without noises or squeaks, even after months of inactivity. Their resistance over time has been tested with rigorous and prolonged testing, performed while the fireplace was running. This device has been used to lift and lower the door tens of thousands of times, demonstrating that cables are more resistant than other lifting methods (ex. Chains).
  • DISTRIBUTING HOT AIR FROM THE TOP IS THE BEST METHOD
Palazzetti fireplaces emit heat from above, using a rainfall process that then transfers heat. Distributing heat from the top represents the most correct method, not only because it uniformly heats the room, but also because it is healthier, and does not lift dust or bacteria.
  • IT IS POSSIBLE TO IGNITE THE FIREPLACE EVEN WHEN ONE IS NOT HOME
Palazzetti monoblocks can be equipped with Scintilla, the automatic ignition system that can activate the fireplace even remotely, using the phone or gsm mobile. With Scintilla it is possible to heat your home whenever you want, from wherever you want, and always come back to a heated home. Scintilla is a device that is simple to install and is compatible with most Palazzetti monoblocks.
  • OPENING THE FIREPLACE DOOR OFTEN LETS SMOKE OUT
The patented VDF® system in Palazzetti fireplaces guarantees perfect draught, even when the door is open; the valve opens automatically to avoid that annoying smokes comes out, returning to the pre-selected position once the door is closed. If the fireplace is not equipped with a specific automatic fumes flow valve, each time the monoblock door is opened annoying smoke will enter the room.
  • THE HEAT YIELD ON PALAZZETTI FIREPLACES CAN BE USED TO GUARANTEE THE MAXIMUM LEVEL OF ENERGY SAVINGS
All Palazzetti fireplaces that are part of the Idro product line can be perfectly integrated with modern accumulation systems (thermal cells), making it possible to store heat produced by the thermal-fireplace and then releasing it only as needed. This makes it possible to heat large surface areas and also even have instantaneous sanitary hot water. Basically, thanks to the accumulation process, by lighting the fireplace in the evening, the room will remain warm for the entire next day, with incomparable energy savings.
  • IT IS POSSIBLE TO ADAPT FIREPLACE FEATURES TO INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
Often fireplace installation must be adapted to pre-existing conditions that are not optimal, for example a flue size that is not adequate (small or too short). Palazzetti fixed this problem with one of its patents: the VDF® valve. The valve, that can be adjusted both automatically and manually, makes it possible to adjust draught based on installation needs and atmospheric conditions.
  • IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO COOK WITH CLOSED FIREPLACES
Palazzetti fireplaces come equipped with combustion chambers that are especially large and completely disappearing doors, that open completely and do not stop half-way. These characteristics make it easy to use the fireplace to cook using plates or grills. For this reason fireplaces manufactured by this company always include a complete set of accessories for cooking with fire.
